38. Henry REEVE was born about 1800 in ENGLAND. He was married to Elizabeth Bollinger about 1818.

39. Elizabeth Bollinger died about 1834 in Steubenville, Ohio. Children were:

child ii. CAROLINE REEVE was born in 1822 in ENGLAND. She died in 1898 in WAYNE COUNTY, MISSOURI. Caroline was the daughter of Joseph W. Reeve, who was a subscription
school teacher. He was educated in England and was a competent teacher
as well as a surveyor. He is described as an austere man who maintained
strict discipline. After his wife died in Ohio, about 1838, he came to
Greenville, where his daughter lived and helped care for the younger
children. Mr. Reeve taught in the large upper room of the Bedwell
Tavern. He continued to teach during the Civil War when most of the
schools were closed. He, like many others taught for less than current
salaries. On November 15, 1864, Mr. Reeve sent a bill to one of his
employers in Wayne County for $3.30 , as due for teaching services.
The 1850 Census of Wayne County, Missouri, shows Caroline, her husband
James Henry and their first three children living in St. Francis
Township. Following the death of her husband, James Henry, Caroline
continued to operate the Wight Ferry for the next four decades. She paid
a great deal of money to Wayne County for ferry licenses. On February 5,
1866, she made an application to the military authorities to operate her
ferry, and was required to pay a federal excise tax. In addition she had
to pay the Wayne County Probate Judge five dollars that went to the
County. Her licenses, secured March 1, 1875 and March 20, 1876 are in
possession of her descendents. The rates were as shown as below:

The 1880 Census of Wayne County, Missouri shows Caroline and six of her
children living in St. Francis Township. James Henry Jr. was listed as
23 years, Ellen, 18 years, Willa, 17 years, Mary, 16 years, Cecelia, 9
years and Crittenden, 8 years of age. Caroline passed away in 1898 and
is buried at the Wight Cemetery, Greenville, Wayne County, Missouri.
